Wednesday, February 6th, Ash Wednesday

We still have a bit of flu going around and today is very much a snow day (all the schools are closed in the area), but I'm trying to be better about record-keeping regardless.

Read-aloud to the four younger kids:

The Blackbird's Nest: Saint Kevin of Ireland by Jenny Schroedel
The Pied Piper of Peru: A Story of Saint Martin de Porres by Ann Tompert
Saint Ciaran: The Tale of a Saint of Ireland by Gary Schmidt

Algebra
Listened to Beowulf

They all listened to some other stories too and did a bunch of art as usual.

Funny Frank story for the day: Frank got put in the corner for hurting Kate. He asked for me to set a timer and then asked how long I had set it for. I braced myself for wailing, but calmly responded "four minutes". He casually remarked, "Oh. That's two and two minutes."
