Math - Ria, Gus, Terri, Bernie, Kate
By the way, Kate is on a total Math streak lately. She finished the entire Kindergarten MCP book yesterday (probably finished about 25 pages yesterday) and was anxious to have me order her a new book. Fortunately I found, out in the garage, a first grade DK Math supplemental workbook that Bernie only used a few pages of. Perfect!!!
Kate seems to be a bit like Terri at the same age in so far as she's highly interested in Math (and surprisingly good at abstractions), but not anxious to move through her letters quite as quickly. Terri's a strong reader now (and some accomodations were really helpful - for example, instead of using the phonogram cards I focused on with the older kids, she preferred to have me give her words to write out on the chalkboard and practice the sounds that way). Still, Kate is doing a bit in the way of language arts - she just came up and asked about whether some particular words rhymed or not and this morning she put together the beloved alphabet train puzzle in order.
Since we're a few days behind on our lists here, I'll mention a few other generalities. Gus has been listening to Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde for the discussion/movie night this week. Terri listened to the Ballet Shoes by N. Streatfeild and Daddy's been reading King Arthur aloud at night.
